Hammam or sauna? Which one suits you
The difference between moist and dry heat, the benefits of each, and when to choose a hammam or a sauna.
Both the hammam and the sauna relax you with heat, but the experiences are quite different.
Hammam: moist heat and cleansing
The hammam is warm and humid. Its main purpose is to soften the skin and cleanse it deeply with the kese mitt. At Prime Spa the hammam is small and private; it is reserved for you alone (up to 2 people) throughout your session.
Sauna: dry heat, short stay
The sauna is hotter but the air is dry. 15–20 minutes is enough. It relaxes the muscles quickly and is a great way to prepare for a massage.
Which one to choose?
- For skin cleansing and a traditional ritual: hammam
- For quick muscle relaxation: sauna
- If you want both: sauna first, then the hammam, and a massage last
